چکیده

Supracondylar humeral fractures are the most common fracture managed with surgical intervention in pediatric population. Academic providers involved orthopaedic resident education must have confidence teams who help to manage these injuries. Surgical simulation of supracondylar provides residents an ideal setting develop and refine their technique a defined level proficiency. Through refinement techniques developed on model, all trained this manner would be expected proficient safe when performing basic principles surgery prior experiencing them live operating room real patient. Surgeon skill can increased while simultaneously decreasing time, radiation exposure, potentially improving patient outcomes. Residents at our institution found working model very positive beneficial. Participants report that simulator improves performance increases room, scoring 4.8 4.5 out 5, respectively.

Closed Reduction versus Open Reduction and Pin Fixation in Pediatric Type III Supracondylar Humeral Fractures

Background Supracondylar humeral fractures constitute about 60% and 13% of all pediatric elbow and pediatric skeletal fractures, respectively, with a peak incidence in the 5-7 years age group. The aim of this study was to evaluate and compare closed reduction with open reduction and pin fixation in type III supracondylar humeral fractures in children younger than...

Outcome of Closed and Open Reduction with Cross Pinning Fixation, for Displaced Supracondylar Humeral Fracture

ABSTRACT Introduction: In areas where intraoperative radiography facilities are not available, open reduction is an acceptable treatment option for fracture treatment. The aim of this investigation was to compare the outcomes of closed reduction to open reduction with cross-pinning fixation in Gartland Type III supracondylar humeral fracture extensions. Methods: In this retrospective study, clo...
